Coyote Moon Golf Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Truckee, California.
Coyote Moon Golf Course first opened for play in 2000. This long par-72 course was designed by Brad Bell. Of course, at altitude, the course shortens up as your ball flys further.
Coyote Moon Golf Course will provide you with one of the finest mountain golf experiences in North America. The Coyote Moon Golf course sits on 250 acres of secluded rolling hills, with majestic pines, and wildflowers. Brad Bell has taken full advantage of the natural setting. Towering pines, granite outcroppings, and the beautiful Trout Creek add dramatic elements of risk. Without a single house to spoil your view, playing Coyote Moon offers an experience seldom found in golf today. Spectacular scenery, tremendous weather, quality service, and a phenomenal golf course located on the eastern slopes of California's Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Every type of shot will be necessary for the golfer to successfully navigate Coyote Moon Golf Course. Where greens are not bunkered, rolling grass mounds provide the challenge to get up and down. Coyote Moon Golf Course is a challenging but extremely fair test of golf. The course will offer enjoyment and challenge to all levels of golfers with generous fairways and medium sized greens. Once on the course, you will find tee shots that offer ample landing areas with only a few forced carries. From the landing area, the course typically funnels down to medium sized undulating greens that are well protected by trees, sand, and water.
The 13th is a dramatic 227-yard par 3 with a 200-foot drop. The 13th is hardly the only highlight, though. There are elevated tees everywhere, howling coyotes and a tough finishing stretch, highlighted by the par-4 17th, which plays over a lake and doglegs around the trees.
Black tees: 7,177 yards.
Blue Tees tees: 6,704 yards, course rating 71.1, slope rating 134.
White tees: 6,211 yards, course rating 69.1, slope rating 130.
Gold tees: 5,022 yards.

We play Coyote Moon every year and find it one of the best in Northern California. The shear beauty of the high Sierra layout with NO HOUSES is stunning. The only issue is no driving range. If you haven't played here, it is a bucket list course.

Best course ever. Magically laid out. I played when the greens were in bad shape, but that was because the greens keeper incorrectly covered them for the winter. Since then, they have let go of that greens keeper. Now they are excellent.

Pace of play was a little slow but not real bad. Beautiful course. A little disappointed with the greens as they weren't as fast as the putting greens and were a bit bumpy. I would play it again with the special pricing.

Absolutely beautiful! Every hole is a postcard view. The elevation is over 7000' adding some serious yardage to your shots. I hit my PW 165 yards on a par 3. I liked it so much I paid $150 and $60 to replay it the same day. The only con is no driving range. You can hit balls into a net.

This course is unreal, even for the price. You have to play it at least once, especially to take on the Par 3 13th that drops off almost 200 feet. Extremely serene -- the only thing missing is a driving range.
